TITLE OF POSITION: System Sales Engineer
LOCATION: Menands, NY
REPORTING MANAGER: John Snyder, Director of Engineering
This position is responsible for developing business technology solutions, budgets, quotations, scopes of work and project plans for existing and expanding client base. The System Sales Engineer will work closely with the sales and account management teams to engineer enterprise voice and IT network solutions based on client needs. This role is also responsible for providing remote and/or field technical support for field technicians as needed, as well as advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution through manufacturer Technical Assistance Centers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 5 years converged IT and Voice network design and implementation experience
- Cisco CCNA or CCDA required, CCDP and Cisco wireless and security experience desired
- Nortel enterprise voice design and installation experience desired
- Thorough understanding of traditional and IP-based carrier services and applications
- Demonstrated experience in advanced converged network troubleshooting and problem resolution
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Visio and Microsoft Project
- Detailed orientated, self motivated and the ability to meet deadlines
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation

DUTIES:
- Develop technology designs, budgets, quotations, scopes of work, and project plans
- Provide highest level of technical support for field service team
- Participate as team lead on installation projects as required
- Serve as TAG interface to manufacturer Technical Assistance Centers
- Provide technical training for sales and field service technicians as required
- Provide sales engineering support to account managers
- Interact effectively with sales to identify business development opportunities

TITLE OF POSITION: Field Technician
LOCATION: Albany, New York
REPORTING MANAGER: Chris Dunleavy, Director of Service Delivery
DIVISION: Field Engineering
The Field Technician position is a mid- to high-level technical role on the TAG Solutions voice field engineering team. This role provides core voice networking installation, programming, and technical support to TAG Solutions clients. This is a full-time position that generates revenue for TAG Solutions through activities that are directly billable to clients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A.S. and/or B.S. degree in a technical field preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years of voice field engineering experience required
- Strong working knowledge of Nortel BCM 50/200/400 required
- Strong working knowledge of Nortel Option 11/61/81 required
- Strong working knowledge of Nortel CallPilot voice messaging required
- Familiarity with Nortel BARS/NARS programming strongly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Nortel Voice-over-IP (VoIP) technology preferred
- Familiarity with Nortel Symposium preferred
- Familiarity with LAN/WAN routing and switching preferred
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to take ownership of client issues and project tasks

DUTIES:
- Respond to client service requests
- Stage, configure, install, and test new client voice systems
- Create and update documentation for client systems
- Provide technical assistance to other team members
- Manage project-related tasks assigned by project managers
- Provide field-level training to other team members on Nortel platforms
- Provide technical advice to sales personnel, sales engineers, and clients

TITLE OF POSITION: Inside Sales Engineer
LOCATION: Albany, NY
REPORTING MANAGER: John Snyder, Director of Engineering
This position is responsible for assisting the sales and engineering teams in the design, configuration, proposal and sale of Information Technology products, systems and services to the growing number of loyal TAG Solutions clients.
DUTIES:
- Research and engineer proper configuration of IT components, systems, software and services to meet Senior Engineer’s and/or client’s specified functional requirements
- Work with suppliers to determine product pricing and availability
- Advise clients on appropriate systems, components to solve business technology challenges
- Prepare IT materials lists and/or formal quotations for use by TAG Solutions colleagues
- Track and utilize manufacturer / distributor incentives as applicable to system design and quoting
- Create limited project Scope of Work documents
- Establish IT project timelines and create project plans/schedules
- Assist sales team in creation of sales proposals
- Maintain vendor and distributor relationships across product lines
- Transact procurement of IT systems and components, as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum AAS degree or graduate of accredited technical institute
- Must have equivalent experience of a Level I Network Engineer
- 1-3 years experience in sales engineering or IT engineering capacity
- Ability to component-level design network hardware and infrastructure systems
- Thorough understanding of PC and Server components and functionality
- Thorough understanding of core network switching and routing products, protocols and uses
- Thorough understanding of Microsoft operating systems
- Cisco CCDA and/or Microsoft MCP accreditations preferred
- Superior interpersonal and communications skills
- Do-whatever-it-takes attitude a must
